The club would like to invite supporters to an open training session this Saturday, June 23rd, as Robbie Horn’s squad return to Shielfield Park for the first time in 2018/19.
The training session will consist of three main activities for the players: A pre-season running session at Cocklawburn beach, a ball-based training session on Old Shielfield and five-a-side games with Berwick Juniors on the first team pitch.
The squad will be kicking off the day with a running session at Cocklawburn beach. Beginning at 10:30, the players will be working on their fitness at the same beach Berwick Squads have trained at for over 50 years. Fans are invited to come along and watch the session, which will be at the South end of Cocklawburn, heading towards Cheswick Sands.
The players will then head to Shielfield Park for a spot of lunch before beginning the afternoon training session on Old Shielfield at 1:30pm. This session will involve a football, as the team continue to prepare for the pre-season friendlies in a few weeks’ time. Fans will get their first chance to take a look at Robbie Horn’s new recruits including Ally Adams and Sean Murphy.
At 2:30pm, the first team will join in with Berwick Juniors to enjoy a number of games of five-a-sides on Shielfield Park. This is a great opportunity for the youngsters to meet the players, as well as enjoy a number of fun challenges including a penalty shootout and crossbar challenge.
Throughout the afternoon the JB Lounge will be open for both fans and parents to enjoy the World Cup matches, as Belgium face Tunisia and Korea play Mexico in Russia.
The club shop will also be open throughout the afternoon, offering fans the first chance to purchase our new Home Kit, which features the logo of Northern Soul Kitchen. 2018/19 season tickets will also be on sale, alongside the club’s training range and other merchandise.
The ‘Gers look forward to welcoming the players, coaching staff, supporters and Berwick Juniors to Shielfield on Saturday, and we hope to see you all there!
