No winning return against the Warriors
Berwick’s first league meeting against a Stenhousemuir team at Ochilview since 2009 ended with the ‘gers returning empty handed after an early McGuigan goal followed by a Scullion own goal in the 14th minute gave Berwick a mountain to climb as the first half ended with a 2-0 deficit. McGuigan then secured his brace with an 87th minute goal which left the result as a 3-0 reverse. A full match report is available on the Supporters Trust website at www.berwickrangers.org.
Steven Notman and Michael McKenna shared the Social Media Man of the Match vote. The result drops Berwick to 6th place as last week’s opponents Elgin win against Montrose moved them up to 10 points. Elsewhere Stirling continued their good form to take a 5 point lead at the top of the division.
Next week Berwick face the long trip up to second placed Peterhead before the International weekend and Scottish Cup ties mean there is no league fixture until October 21st when they are home to Montrose at Shielfield.
