New board appointment

The club is delighted to confirm the addition Andrew Fiddes to its Board of Directors today.

Having agreed to join the ‘Gers over the weekend, Drew will work alongside Brian Porteous, Craig Forsyth, Dave Buglass & Dougie Younger on the club’s board.

Drew is the owner and director of AGF Plant Ltd, an East Lothian-based drainage surveying, JCB service and mono blocking provider.

Fiddes might be a familiar name in the boardroom for some of our more senior supporters, with his uncle George Fiddes also a director of the club back in the 70s.

Speaking on his arrival, Drew said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been asked to join the Board and I’m already looking forward to getting stuck in.

“I was at the club on Saturday and having spent the day in hospitality, I was really impressed with the positivity and atmosphere around the place.

“Berwick is a club with a lot of potential and although there’s a lot of hard work to do, I’d like to think we can get things back on track.

“I’m following in my late uncle’s footsteps, and I’m lucky to have the support and help of my wife Trish to call on.”

Andrew and Trish have plenty of history in supporting the ‘Gers through AGF Plant, and the pair are now kit sponsor of new man Calum Smith, who impressed manager Ian Little on his debut.

“I thought Calum was really impressive on Saturday, offering us something quite different going forward.

“The club are delighted to have him at Shielfield and I hope that sponsoring his kit will go some way to making him feel welcome here.”
