Monthly Preview – November 2026

Berwick go into November looking to build on the early stages of Martin Scott’s tenure with six games across five different competitions to play.

The month will kick off with three consecutive away days before returning to MKM Shielfield Park as we look to progress in four different cup competitions and move up the Lowland League East table.

All kick offs are 3pm unless otherwise stated

Tuesday 3 November – Stenhousemuir (A, 7:45pm)

November kicks off with a trip to Championship high flyers Stenhousemuir in the KDM Evolution Trophy last 32.

Marvin Bartley’s side have taken the second tier by storm, racing to an unbeaten start and the top of the table. However, four defeats in five, most recently to Bartley’s former side Livingston, have seen Stenny drop down to 4th.

Stenhousemuir made a number of young signings over the summer to add to their promotion-winning side including Scott Bright, who made 26 appearances for Berwick in the 2023/24 season on loan.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the penultimate game of the 2017/18 League Two season where goals from Jack Hamilton and Paul Willis raced Berwick into a two goal lead at Shielfield Park but Stenhousemuir pulled it back to secure a 2-2 draw on their way to promotion.

Our last trip to Ochilview was back in February 2018 for a 4-0 defeat while our last win away at Stenny came in February 2009 in the old Division Three with goals from Stuart Callaghan and Fraser McLaren securing a 2-1 win.

Tickets will be priced at £17 for adults, £12 for concessions with U16s £6.

Saturday 7 November – Cowdenbeath (A)

The first of two league games in November sees Berwick make another trip to Central Park to face old rivals Cowdenbeath.

Paul McLean’s side demolished Berwick in the Scottish Cup at the start of October in Martin Scott’s first game in charge and the ‘Gers will be looking to exact a measure of revenge and move closer to Cowden in the Lowland League East table.

Berwick’s last league visit to Central Park was back in March when Greg Binnie’s early double secured all three points even after Harry Wright was sent off in the second half.

Tickets will be priced at £12 for adults and £8 for concessions (65 and over, Ages 13-16, disabled) with U12s going free. There will be a Pay at the Gate option on the day but please note adult prices are £1 more than the online option (£13) – cash only.

Saturday 14 November – Eddlewood (A, 1:30pm)

The final away game for November sees a first ever visit to Eddlewood Park to take on Eddlewood FC in the South Challenge Cup.

Brian McKinven has led his side to the top of the West of Scotland Fourth Division in their first season in the pyramid and taken the scalp of former SPFL side Albion Rovers in the Third Round of the South Challenge Cup. Eddlewood have also bolstered their ranks in recent weeks with the signing of former Berwick midfielder Matty Collins, who bagged five goals in 38 appearances a couple of seasons ago.

Eddlewood are yet to concede a goal in their South Challenge Cup campaign having knocked out Larkhall Thistle, Kilsyth Athletic and Albion Rovers to reach the Fourth Round. Berwick have beaten Greenock Juniors and Edinburgh University to reach this stage, the furthest the ‘Gers have been in the competition.

Tickets will be priced at £6 for adults, £3 for concessions with U12s going free.

Tuesday 17 November – Civil Service Strollers (H, 7:45pm)

Our first game at MKM Shielfield Park of November sees Civil Service Strollers make the journey down the A1 in Lowland League East action.

Gary Jardine’s side sit, at the time of writing, in 9th place with yet another solid start to their name as they have made Christie Gillies Park something of a fortress, picking up all five of their wins at home including the 2-1 defeat of Berwick back in September.

However, Civil’s away form has been particularly poor across all competitions with their 5-0 win at Lesmahagow Juniors in the South Challenge Cup their only away victory of the season to date. In the league, they have picked up just a solitary point on the road at Linlithgow Rose on the opening day.

Tickets will be priced at £13 for adults, £8 for concessions with U16s going free.

Saturday 21 November – Cumbernauld Colts (H)

The penultimate game of November sees Berwick enter their final cup competition of the season as we host Cumbernauld Colts in the Lowland League Cup.

John Doyle’s side had a strong season in the Lowland League last year but have struggled for consistency since moving into the Lowland League West and currently sit 11th. Part of that struggle has likely come from losing star attacker Josh Jack in the summer to Clydebank while Harry Broun (Dumbarton) and Aiden Malcolm (Caledonian Braves) also departed.

Colts kept their policy of bringing in young talent with a sprinkle of experience with youngsters Harrison Howe (Stirling Albion), Alex Mann (Partick Thistle) and loanees Thomas Horn (Partick Thistle) and Jude Freel (St Mirren) supplemented with the likes of Jamie Semple (Gala Fairydean), Olly McDonald (Edinburgh City) and Jake Williams (Napier City).

Colts did the double over Berwick last season, winning both games 3-2. The two sides have also met once before in the Lowland League Cup back in 2024 with Colts winning 2-1 at Broadwood in the quarter finals.

Tickets will be priced at £13 for adults, £8 for concessions with U16s going free.

Saturday 28 November – Luncarty (H)

November ends with a fifth different competition as Luncarty head to MKM Shielfield Park in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

Craig Mitchell’s Second Division NW side will be cursing their luck in this competition with their trip to Berwick the fourth time in five games they will face Lowland League opposition. They do have an away win in one of those games, knocking out Musselburgh Athletic in the Second Round on penalties to set up the tie with Berwick.

The winner of this game will be rewarded with an away trip to Broxburn Athletic in the Fourth Round.

Tickets will be priced at £13 for adults, £8 for concessions with U16s going free.
