Mcilduff latest Shielfield arrival

The club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Aidan Mcilduff.

21-year-old Mcilduff joins the ‘Gers after spending 2017/18 at tomorrow’s opponents Peterhead, where he made 38 appearances.

Previously, Mcilduff spent 12 years coming through the ranks at SPFL Premiership side Celtic. The left back featured regularly in their UEFA Youth League side before leaving at the end of 2016/17.

Manager Robbie Horn explains Mcilduff’s arrival will boost the left hand side of his team: “Aidan is someone who is proven at this level and played as a trialist during the week. He’s been without a club through the summer and has been on trial at higher league clubs but nothing has materialised for him. He needs games to get up to speed but is a very good footballer and brings us more options on the left hand side.”

Mcilduff is expected to go straight into the squad as we travel north tomorrow.
