McCrystal joins until January

Berwick Rangers can confirm the loan signing of midfielder Ben McCrystal from St Johnstone, in a deal which will see the 18 year-old stay at MKM Shielfield until 12 January 2025.

McCrystal, who plays in an attacking or central midfield role most commonly, spent the second half of last season on loan at Broomhill, where he scored 3 goals in 12 appearances. He featured twice for St Johnstone B in the SPFL Trust Trophy this season, as the Perth side were knocked out by East Fife in the Second Round.

With Alex Harris out for the season and Lewis Barr still sidelined, the addition of Ben will add an extra dimension to the ‘Gers midfield, ahead of a crucial run of fixtures including home matches against Threave Rovers and Hearts B in the next 8 days, away trips to Gretna and Forfar to round off October, and games against old SPFL foes Albion Rovers and Cowdenbeath in November.
