Match Preview: Forfar Athletic vs Berwick Rangers – SPFL Ladbrokes League Two

ForfarAthleticBerwick travel to face Ladbrokes Scottish League Two table-toppers Forfar Athletic as John Coughlin’s men look to end a run of five consecutive draws and inflict only the third defeat on the hosts this season.

It’s the ‘Gers first visit to Station Park since April 3, 2010 – a match which The Loons won 2-0 – and, in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, Forfar ran out 2-1 winners with Lewis Milne and Josh Peters on the scoresheet.

Berwick Rangers Team News:

Despite late heartbreak in the home match against Cowdenbeath last week, manager John Coughlin said he was pleased with the ‘decent’ performance the ‘Gers put in but, not for the first time this season, he’ll be going into a match  with players carrying suspensions.

Steven Notman is serving the first of his two-game ban for the straight red card he received in the build-up to Cowden’s equaliser, while fellow midfielder Steven Thomson – the ‘Gers top scorer this season with six league goals – is out but only for this match.

Aside from that, Robert Wilson is also still out with a knee injury that forced him to miss last week’s game.

Forfar Athletic Team News:

After winning their first seven games in Ladbrokes Scottish League Two, The Loons endured a mini slump – losing two and drawing one of their next three – before returning to winning ways with a resounding 3-0 away win at Stirling Albion last week.

That result saw Albion caretaker boss Martyn Corrigan step down, with him replaced by former St Johnstone captain Dave Mackay.

For today’s game, manager Gary Bollan has been dealt a blow with defender Andy Munro – the scorer of the first goal in last week’s match – out for four weeks with ligament damage.

Apart from that though, Bollan will have the same pool of players available for the match.
