Match Preview : Elgin City v Berwick Rangers – Ladbrokes League Two

Robbie Horn and his men travel to Borough Briggs tomorrow for a 3pm league encounter as the competition returns following a two-week lay off for cup action.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back following third round exits in the cup competition last weekend.

Elgin and the ‘Gers are both currently sat in mid-table with only 3 points separating the sides. The previous match between the teams this season will have fond memories for the Berwick gaffer and supporters alike, with goals from Michael McKenna and Aaron Murrell sealing a fantastic comeback victory in a 3-2 thriller at Shielfield Park.

Our travelling supporters shall be hoping for more of the same come Saturday. The aforementioned game signalled the home debut of Robbie as manager.

Berwick News

Horn has confirmed that the depleted squad that exited the cup at the hands of Arbroath last time out will be replenished with some returns from injury. The Berwick manager was hamstrung last weekend with the absences of Brennan, Notman, Waugh and Cook. This week it appears everyone is fit and available for the match at Borough Briggs. Canadian key player Marcus Godinho is expected to return to the Berwick side having been ineligible in the cup game at Arbroath.

Elgin City News

The Black & Whites will be looking to return to winning ways, having also exited the cup at the same stage as Berwick, but buoyed by a 1-3 victory at bottom side Cowdenbeath in their last league game.

Gavin Price’s side have 6 wins in the league so far this season with Brian Cameron their leading creator with 6 goals and 2 assists in the 2017/18 league campaign.

Price, who was named League Two manager of the month for October, is expected to boost his ranks with recent signings Tony Dingwall and Declan Byrne being in his matchday squad. Dingwall has joined on loan from Ross County and plays in midfield, with Byrne a 21 year old striker formerly with Cowdenbeath.
