Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Stirling Albion – Ladbrokes League Two

League football is back! Ladbrokes League Two resumes tomorrow as we welcome Dave Mackay and his Stirling side to Shielfield, with the game kicking off at 3pm.

The visitors finished third in League Two last season, going on to lose in the play-offs. The Binos were in pole position for three months but eventually lost out to Peterhead in the Play Off Semi Final.

Both meetings between the sides last season were close encounters with each side winning one by a solitary goal. Andy Little scoring the winning goal for Stirling in the most recent encounter.

Both sides will be looking for a positive start to their respective League campaigns.

Berwick News

Manager Robbie Horn has seen signs of improvement in the last two Betfred Cup games and will be looking for that to continue.

There could be league debuts in Berwick colours for Adams, Murphy, Davie, Healy and Ross Brown, who impressed up at Livingston.

Robbie is looking for a good start to give everyone a lift in what will be a challenging first league outing.

Horn commented that he is still looking to add to the squad and speaking with different options, whilst waiting to see which potential loan deals will be possible.

Stirling News

Dave Mackay has made 9 summer signings as they look to make up for the disappointment of last season and get promoted this term. Leading scorer and League Two Player of the Year, Darren Smith, is sidelined with a back injury. Peter MacDonald scored their goal in the last cup game and is one of three MacDonald’s that have been on duty for the Binos in the cup matches.

Dominic Docherty was the last summer signing, having previously played for Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park.

Lee Hamilton is expected to return after injury.
