Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Peterhead FC – Ladbrokes League Two
League action returns to Shielfield Park tomorrow with Jim McInally’s Peterhead side providing the opposition at 3pm in this League Two fixture.
Title chasing Blue Toon will offer a stern examination of Johnny Harvey and his improving ‘Gers side, in what promises to be an exciting match.
The visitors are currently occupying 2nd place in the table and the same position that they finished in last season. They have already recorded a sequence of six consecutive victories this season.
This will be the 11th home league game for Berwick against Peterhead in their history. They will be looking to add to the solitary victory thus far.
Berwick News
Johnny Harvey will be looking to build on the recent positive results in the league. The good news is that new signings Lewis Barr, Andy Forbes and Craig Hume will all be in the squad after joining the club at the start of the week after featuring recently as trialists. Barr will be looking to add to his goals from recent games.
Jamie Todd is back in contention. The bad news is that Paul Willis picked up an injury during the week and is expected to be sidelined for a month. Aiden Mcllduff is nearing a return but this match is expected to come too soon.
Sean Murphy and Ouzy See are expected to be out until January.
Peterhead News
Derek Lyle has been a danger man for Jim McInally recently, scoring in 6 consecutive games, including the 2-1 win at Balmoor last time out.
McInally is one of the longest serving managers in the lower divisions and will be hoping to go one better than last season this time out. He celebrated his 300th game in charge of the Blue Toon earlier this campaign.
