Football returns to Shielfield tomorrow, after a three week absence, as the ‘Gers host Lowland League side Gretna FC 2008 in the Second Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
The fixture will also be new manager Johnny Harvey’s first game in charge, after the 36-year-old made the step up from East of Scotland side Penicuik Athletic. Harvey recorded six wins from six in Conference A this season, scoring 39 goals in the process, and will hope to transfer this form to Rangers.
Harvey faces a tough challenge as a number of players are unavailable for the tie. Firstly, Kevin Dabrowski is unavailable for selection due to his loan agreement whilst Jamie Todd, Jack Cook, Darren Lavery and Ouzy See are all side-lined through injury. Aaron Murrell and Aidan McIlduff will both be subject to late fitness tests tomorrow.
Gretna travel along the border to Shielfield with some new faces after they announced the signing of Bryan Gilfillan and Rander De Castro Oliveira yesterday. The side currently sit 12th in the Lowland League, with three wins from their last four fixtures.
Fork Lift Borders Instruction Ltd are the match ball sponsors for the tie.
