Match Preview: Berwick Rangers v Elgin City – SPFL League Two
Berwick head into tomorrow’s clash with Elgin City looking to take advantage of their enforced break to secure their first 3 points since the 3rd October.
The Shielfield Park pitch is currently heavy but should be fit to play on tomorrow – a further update will be provided later today on social media and on the morning of the match.
Berwick Rangers Team News:
Kieran Ainslie will not be available for tomorrow’s match, the centre-half ruled out with a groin strain.
Euan Bauld remains sidelined with a back issue alongside fellow long-term absentee Calum Helm, though there is good news for the youngster in that he has started his running programme as he continues his rehabillitation, physio Jenna Orr stating that she is optimistic about his recovery and that he is well ahead of schedule.
Having tested out different formations through the break Berwick have had over the past couple of weeks, manager John Coughlin may spring a tactical surprise for tomorrow’s return to Shielfield.
Elgin City Team News:
Elgin will make the long journey across the Border with a full squad available to manager Jim Weir.
Berwick will know they’ll have to keep Craig Gunn quiet if they are to take anything from the game, the experienced striker having netted 12 times already this season.
The Dream Team can take comfort however from Elgin’s poor home record, the Borough Briggs side having won only once away from home so far this season despite sitting in 4th place.
