Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Elgin City – Ladbrokes League Two
Ladbrokes League Two football returns to Shielfield Park tomorrow after a two-week hiatus as the ‘Gers host in-form Elgin City, with the match kicking off at 3pm.
The visitors are buoyed having won their last two games in the League with last weekends thrilling 3-2 win over Stirling Albion coming in the last minute.
Berwick will be looking to put some points on the board and increase the gap away from bottom club Albion Rovers. Johnny Harvey and the boys have been boosted by the fact that Albion failed to close ground with their re-arranged matches in recent weeks. Harvey will now be looking to use the games in hand to remove any relegation fears as the season draws to a close.
History
This will be the 26th encounter in the Scottish Leagues at Shielfield Park. The ‘Gers have 10 wins to date and have netted 46 goals during those games.
Berwick News
Ouzy See is still struggling with injury and will not be involved. Dougie Brydon is rated as 50/50 with a small injury. Jordan Orru has an injury which may keep him out for a number of weeks. Kyle Allison returns from suspension. Loan signing Cameron Blues, who joined from Premiership side Livingston earlier this week, is expected to be involved. The midfielder should be a terrific asset until the end of the season.
Elgin City News
Gavin Price’s side have recovered well from losing leader scorer, Shane Sutherland, to promotion chasing Peterhead during the January transfer window. Sutherland moved now for a fee after initially agreeing a pre-contract agreement to move in the summer.
Brian Cameron, now leading scorer with 6 goals, netted two in the impressive win against Stirling last time out.
