Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Cowdenbeath – Ladbrokes League Two

Saturday marks the penultimate home game of the season as we welcome Gary Bollan and his Blue Brazil side to Shielfield Park for a 3pm kick-off.

Robbie Horn and the boys will be looking for that long-awaited victory to increase the distance from the visitors at the foot of the table.

Cowdenbeath’s defeat to Peterhead last time out meant that they will finish the League Two season in 10th place  and will go into the Pyramid Play-off matches against either Cove Rangers or Spartans to preserve their League 2 status.

Berwick will be looking to complete a clean-sweep of results against Cowdenbeath on Saturday having won all three previous encounters this season. A 1-0 victory back in October caused the viral penalty incident which was duly dispatched by Micheal McKenna for the victory. The last clash ended 1-3 to the ‘Gers with Steven Thompson, Jack Hamilton and Ouzy See netting.

Berwick News

Robbie has some injuries and selections to ponder prior to this game as influential pair Robby McCrorie and Stevie Notman are both nursing knocks. Sean Brennan impressed in the midweek 0-0 against Stenhousemuir in the place of Robby.

Paul Willis may be available having been missing recently. Ouzy See is obviously sidelined following the injury sustained at Montrose last Saturday.

Robbie also has a few players close to suspension which may come into his thinking on the starting 11.

Cowdenbeath News

Gary Bollan will be looking to take momentum into the Play-off games and will be buoyed by the fact that their form has improved considerably since the turn of the year. Cowdenbeath have beaten Clyde, Elgin City and Stenhousemuir since the start of February.

They boast former Ger, Jordyn Sheerin, amongst their ranks and Robbie Buchanan is the leading league scorer with 7 this campaign.
