Match Preview: Berwick Rangers v Clyde – SPFL Ladbrokes League Two
Berwick Rangers will host Barry Ferguson’s Clyde at Shielfield Park tomorrow afternoon, and the ‘Gers will go into the match knowing that a win over the Bully Wee would see them leapfrog their opposition – potentially bolstering the ‘Gers to as high as 2nd in the league table.
Berwick Rangers Team News:
It’s a case of ‘much the same’ for the Rangers this week, with loanees Sean Mackie and Ben Stirling both still sidelined through respective injuries whilst on duty for their parent club Hibernian.
Lee Hamilton also remains out with a groin injury, and although John Coughlin will welcome back Barry Hogg from a back issue, his team’s task will be made no easier by the absence of defender Brian Martin, who has also picked up a knock.
Of course, Allan Walker will also miss out after leaving the club last week. Coughlin will once again rely on his development team to help plug the gaps.
Clyde Team News:
Berwick aren’t the only side suffering from injury woes, with Clyde having seen former ‘Ger Dylan Easton and his teammate Jordan Lowdon both ruled out for what looks like the remainder of the 16/17 campaign after suffering serious respective ligament injuries.
One ex-Berwicker who is likely to feature however is Ewan McNeil. A multi-Player of the Year winner at Shielfield last season, Ewan has featured at right back, right midfield and centre back at Broadwood this season, and has already racked up 11 appearances with the club.
Having already racked up 15 goals this season, Clyde will pose a considerable forward threat but the ‘Gers may take some encouragement from the away form of Ferguson’s team, who have won just once on the road thus far.
