Lavery stays for eighth season
Darren Lavery has signed a new contract extension, keeping him at the club for the 2018/19 season.
Lavery, who has been at Shielfield Park since 2011, has made 235 appearances for the club. Despite dropping back into a deeper role over the last season or so, Lavery has netted an impressive 64 goals whilst wearing the black and gold.
Manager Robbie Horn was impressed with how Lavery ended the last campaign and hopes he can add to his goal tally in 2018/19: “I’m delighted to get Darren tied up for another season. Towards the end of the season we saw the Darren Lavery of old with his performances, he’s in a slightly deeper role now and it’s about adding goals to his game again. Still only 26 he’s one of the most experienced players in the dressing room and an important figure for us. Darren has shown loyalty to the club with signing again on reduced terms and I think he will be a big player for us next season.”
