Kevin Walker makes SPFL Team of the Week

Both Sheerin and Walker have been recognised for their efforts in the 2-1 win over Edinburgh City

The efforts of goalkeeper Kevin Walker have been recognised by the SPFL with the stopper making the ‘Team of the Week’ for the first time this season after Jordyn Sheerin, who netted both goals in our 2-1 victory over Edinburgh City was named by supporters as their Social Media Man of the Match earlier in the week.

And though Sheerin’s goals won us the 3 points, it was the efforts of Walker which allowed the ‘Gers a platform to form an unlikely comeback, the stopper producing some stunning saves and denying City in numerous one-on-one situations to keep Berwick in the game.

Though Walker couldn’t keep a clean sheet, he can certainly be happy with his performance and will be looking to continue his fine form when the ‘Gers are back in action at Shielfield Park next weekend.

The SPFL described Kevin’s performance as follows:

“Berwick kept their hosts Edinburgh City rooted to the bottom of League 2 after Jordyn Sheerin bagged a four-minute double at Meadowbank. The visitors rode their luck at times, relying on Walker to keep them in the game with a number of eye-catching saves.”

The club would like to congratulate both Kevin and Jordyn for their achievements. To view the full SPFL Team of the Week, click here.
