Kay leaves on loan

Berwick Rangers can announce that goalkeeper Thomas Kay has joined East of Scotland First Division side Edinburgh University on loan until the end of the season.

20 year-old Thomas recently signed a 2 year extension to his contract at the ‘Gers, and this loan move will allow him to get the game time needed to continue his development.

The club has worked hard to find the right environment for Thomas to join for the season, and with Edinburgh University manager Callum Elliot and his coaching staff, and the facilities available at Edinburgh Uni, we feel we have found the ideal club for Thomas to progress. He featured for his new side in a 5-1 preseason win against Ormiston Primrose last weekend, in what we hope will be the first of many wins for Thomas in an Edinburgh Uni shirt.

We wish Thomas and Edinburgh University AFC all the best for the season ahead, and look forward to hearing from him about how he is getting on. The loan deal also contains a 24-hour recall clause, should Thomas be required back at MKM Shielfield Park.
