Highlights: Arbroath 1-1 Berwick Rangers

Berwick opened their SPFL Ladbrokes League Two campaign with a 1-1 draw at Gayfield Park, Steven Thomson’s strike earning the ‘Gers a point on opening day.

Arbroath opened the scoring around 10 minutes into the second-half courtesy of Martin Scott. Arbroath kept stopper Kevin Walker busy throughout the game, but the ‘keeper had little chance as Scott smashed it into the corner.

Berwick responded 15 minutes later however when Darren Lavery sparked a counter-attack, playing through Thomson on the ‘Gers let. The forward sprang the offside trap before lashing an effort past Arbroath’s number one.
