Healy fifth summer signing
Berwick Rangers have today added striker Daryl Healy to the 2018/19 squad.
21-year-old Healy joins the ‘Gers from Lowland League side Selkirk. The club finished 5th last season, with the youngster netting 12 league goals in 30 league games. Previously with Whitehill Welfare, Healy joins Murrell, Rose and See in Horn’s striking options for the new season.
Healy, who supporters may recognise from the open training session last week, is eager to get started: “I’m really happy to have signed for Berwick Rangers and make the step up. After meeting with Robbie and speaking to both former and current players, it was an easy decision for me. I can’t wait for the season to start and hopefully I can develop as a player and help the team kick on from last season.”
Manager Robbie Horn has followed Healy for a number of years and believes he has a bright future: “Daryl is a player that I’ve been impressed with over the last couple of seasons at Whitehill and Selkirk. He’s a big lad, 6ft 2, good in the air as you would expect, good pace and works hard. He’s still raw but there’s definitely potential and plenty to work with that’s for sure.”
