Harvey completes treble signing
Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm the signing of Lewis Barr, Andrew Forbes and Craig Hume.
The trio, who all played for manager Johnny Harvey at his previous club Penicuik Athletic, have impressed the coaching staff during a trial period with the club and put pen to paper with the ‘Gers earlier today.
Defender Craig Hume scored on his debut for the club during our 4-2 win away to Elgin, before featuring at Shielfield during our 2-0 win over Albion Rovers. Forbes, who is also a defender, made his competitive debut in the same fixture, however the player also scored in his first appearance; a recent midweek friendly fixture.
Lewis Barr, who has previously played in League Two with East Fife, has made a great start to life at Shielfield with three goals and an assist in his two appearances for the black and gold. The midfielder was voted social media Man of the Match after a brace in our 3-3 draw away to Clyde last weekend.
Harvey has had a long working relationship with the players and his happy to be managing them again: “I am absolutely delighted to finally have these three boys tied down. These are three players I have a great amount of trust in, they have worked under me for a number of years now and they know the demands of playing in my teams. They have shown over the last few weeks as trialists they have the quality to make a difference to our team. All three bring different attributes that will compliment what we already have within our dressing room.”
All three players are expected to feature in the manager’s squad as we host second placed Peterhead on Saturday.
