Harvey adds Allison
Johnny Harvey has today made his first signing as Berwick manager with the arrival of goalkeeper Kyle Allison from Penicuik Athletic.
28-year-old Allison makes the move to Shielfield from Penicuik, where he featured regularly for Harvey over the last 18 months. The goalkeeper, who began his career with Cowdenbeath over a decade ago, has previously played for Inverness, Dunfermline, Linlithgow Rose, Ballingry Rovers and Kelty Hearts.
Having already worked with the player, Harvey knows exactly what he’s getting in Allison “Kyle was an important member of my squad last season and brings a wealth of experience. He is a huge character in the dressing room and his desire to win is everything I look for in a player. I’m looking forward to working with him again. He will now compete with Sean for the number one spot as we have also mutually agreed to send Kewin back to Hibernian. I’d like to thank both Kewin and Hibernian, and I’m sure Kewin will go on to have a fantastic career, but we just feel that having two Berwick goalkeepers gives us more security moving forward.
Allison is already familiar with the standards set by the manager and is excited to get started: “I’m very excited about the challenge that lies ahead. I know the expectations and demands the gaffer expects from his players and his vision is very much one I’m aligned to. I’m looking forward to getting in and working hard, be it on the training pitch, with our mentality, with the coaching staff and the wider player group or in our own sessions, in order to contribute to delivering a collective high performing team on a Saturday.”
Everyone at the club would like to welcome Allison, who is expected to go straight into tomorrow’s squad, to the club and also wish Dabrowski well for the future.
