Graham: ‘Play-offs must be the minimum’

After completing his Berwick move earlier in the week, Finn Graham has declared that play-offs must be the bare minimum for the ‘Gers this season.

Discussing his aims for the season, Graham declared: “On a personal level, I’d like to play as many games as possible. But the main reason I’m so keen for playing time is to play a part in what should be a big season for Berwick.

“We have the squad here to make the play-offs – but that should be the ‘fallback’ should we need it. As a team I think we have to be aiming even higher, and try to go all the way.

“It’s a long season and if we keep things consistent we’ve every chance. There’s a good range of personalities in the changing rooms, and most importantly a good bond between everyone. I’m glad to be a part of it.

Further expanding on his decision to become a Shielfielder, Graham declares: “I joined Berwick because, on a personal level, it feels like the right thing to do for my career.

“It’s difficult leaving Dunfermline as I’ve spent ten years with the club progressing through the youth system. I’d made some great friends there, so yeah, it was difficult to leave.

“But the way that the lads here commit themselves during training and games here has been absolutely spot on – it helps reassure me I’ve made the right decision.

“The training is great too – I’m really enjoying working with the coaching team here and hope to develop my game as the season goes on.”

It seems as though the midfielder has settled in well to life at Berwick, as he finishes: “The lads all get on well. I know a few of the boys who used to play at Dunfermline. They soon took me under their wing here so it’s been easy to fit in!”
