‘Gers to host Hibernian

Berwick Rangers are pleased to confirm that the club will host Hibernian on Tuesday 5th July, with a 7:45pm kick-off at Shielfield Park.

Hibernian enjoyed a successful season last year despite missing out on promotion from the Ladbrokes Championship, winning the Scottish Cup against Rangers in a 3-2 victory.

And subject to confirmation, the Hibees may bring their silverware to Shielfield with the match their first since lifting the trophy at Hampden Park in May.

The Edinburgh-based side today announced the appointment of former-Celtic manager Neil Lennon as manager of the club, who is no stranger to Shielfield Park having guided Celtic to a 2-0 victory over the ‘Gers back in 2011.

Lennon will be using the game to get his players up-to-speed as they prepare to attack the Europa League, Hibs’ cup victory earning them their place in the European competition.

This will be the third time Berwick have hosted Hibernian in pre-season action in three seasons, with the fixture always providing entertainment and a good crowd.

Admission prices for the match will be confirmed closer to the time.
