‘Gers reveal new retro range

Ex ‘keeper John Wilson.

The ‘Gers are proud to reveal a new limited edition range of Retro training wear. Inspired by the training wear worn throughout the 1980’s by players such as David Moyes, Lindsay Muir and club record goal scorer Eric Tait, the new range features a similar retro tape detail down the sleeve as well as the original club logo, used for the first time since the 80’s.

The logo, which older supporters will recognise from the old Umbro tracksuits, was unique to the training wear at that time with the font differing slightly from the font used on playing kits. New club partner Intimation worked with original images from the time period to bring the unique crest back to life over 28 years after it was last seen at Shielfield Park.

Coincidentally, the range has further ties back to the 80’s through teamwear supplier Mitre’s use of the iconic Delta chevron design in the tape detail. The Mitre Delta, which was reintroduced at the beginning of the 17/18 season, was the official football of the Scottish leagues throughout the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s.

The new range features the original BRFC logo and similar tape detail.

Berwick’s Media Manager Dominic Gall, who stepped in as a last minute model, discussed the new range ahead of its release “The Retro range is very smart with a simplistic yet stylish design. The reintroduction of the original club crest really compliments the retro detailing on the sleeve and adds to the overall look of the top. Adding our own piece of history to a range designed to commemorate something as iconic as the Mitre Delta really makes the tops feel special.”

The Retro range, which is currently only available in adult sizes, will be available in store ahead of our game with Stirling Albion and online here soon
