‘Gers match with Heart of Midlothian cancelled

This evening’s scheduled clash with Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian has been cancelled following a number of positive Covid-19 tests at the Edinburgh club’s training base.

Five members of Hearts’ football department are now self-isolating in line with COVID-19 guidelines after returning positive lateral flow and PCR tests.

Hearts immediately contacted the relevant football authorities upon confirmation of positive tests within their football department, who advised that tonight’s game could not go ahead.

Although disappointed, the club understands the need to keep the health, safety and welfare of all supporters, players, officials and volunteers at the forefront of operations as crowds begin to return to football.

All at Berwick Rangers Football Club would like to wish those who have tested positive a speedy recovery. The club would also like to wish Heart of Midlothian all the best for the coming season.

Berwick Rangers’ ticketing partners, Fanbase, will issue refunds to all supporters who purchased tickets for the fixture in the coming days.

Supporters who wish to show their support for the ‘Gers as the club lose out on revenue from this evening’s fixture can purchase a ticket for the club’s final Transfer Draw, giving you a chance to scoop a jackpot while also adding to first-team manager Stuart Malcolm’s playing budget for the 2021/22 campaign.

Wednesday’s fixture against a Dundee United XI is not currently thought to be at risk. Tickets for the game can be purchased now via Fanbase.
