‘Gers delighted to sign Watt
The ‘Gers are delighted to confirm that highly-rated youngster Dan Watt has agreed new terms with the club ahead of the new campaign.
Having spent two seasons impressing in the SPFL Development League East with the team’s Under 20 side, Watt began to appear regularly on the first-team bench last season, and made a total of 9 appearances from the bench throughout the season.
Boss John Coughlin registered his intent at signing Watt up again at the start of July, reserving the following praise for the talented youngster: “We have some exciting prospects within the ranks. I’m still looking to tie Dan Watt up. He has a phenomenal work-rate and anyone who has watched him will know that.”
Coughlin will be delighted to have got his man and the 21 year-old forward, who has also spent time on loan with Lochore Welfare, will now be looking to impress his manager further as he aims to break into the first-team properly.
With only Greg Rutherford and Aaron Murrell as competition in the front line, the youngster will be likely to have more of a chance to build on the first-team experience he gained last season.
