Falkirk visit Shielfield

Falkirk are the visitors tomorrow evening at Shielfield for a 7.45 kick off in the Betfred Cup. After Saturday’s defeat to Ayr United, the Bairns will be looking to bounce back against a Berwick side still smarting from two heavy defeats in this competition.

A cold January Saturday afternoon the last time these two sides met in cup competition

Last meeting at Shielfield saw Falkirk run out as 2-0 winners in the Scottish cup 3rd round tie with Alan Gow and Chirnside born Liam Craig netting for the visitors . Our current assistant manager Kevin Haynes played up front for Berwick that day.

Team News

For Falkirk, Mark Durnan will miss the game after picking up a straight red on Saturday. Berwick will still be missing Ali and Euan Smith. Chris Gray picked up a slight knock but is hoping to feature.

Making his Home debut on the bench will be 16 year keeper Ryan Kidd who joined up with the squad on Saturday. Ryan, from Murieston near Livingston, is an exciting young prospect who played with Calvary park in Edinburgh whilst training with the u20s at Edinburgh City. Former coach, now with Civil Service u20s Stuart Lockhart says of Ryan.

‘He’s a quiet lad but has come on really well this last season. He commands his box well and his distribution for a lad his age is second to none. Not only has he already got the physical stature but he also has all the attributes needed to do very well in the game.’

The club welcome Ryan and his family to Shielfield and the start of his career with the Dream Team. The club would like to thank Andrew Allen for offering to Sponsor the Gloves of Both Sean Brennan and Ryan.

Kevin Haynes versus Falkirk in 2007, don’t worry he’s not playing tomorrow, or is he?
