Club nominated for marketing award

Berwick Rangers’ innovative new fundraising campaign, Pound Per Point, has been shortlisted for a 2018 North East Marketing Award.

The North East Marketing Awards aim to celebrate and showcase the creativity, innovation and passion of marketers and marketing teams across the region. Pound Per Point, which asks supporters to pledge one pound for every point the team earns throughout the 2018/19 league campaign, is shortlisted in the Integrated Campaign of the Year category.

Dom Gall, the club’s Media Manager, is delighted to see the fundraiser recognised amongst the best campaigns from North East businesses: “The number of pledges for our Pound Per Point campaign has been fantastic so far. We’ve had massive support from both within and outwith the club and are very grateful to our supporters who have really got behind the campaign. We have had fans from all over the UK, and even further afield in places like America, pledging their support.”

Pound Per Point got off to a great start on Saturday as the ‘Gers picked up a 1-0 win over Stirling Albion, with the first £3 being added to every pledge. Dom is hopeful that the win will be the start of a successful season: “It was a big win for the team at the weekend and a welcome boost to both the club and the Pound Per Point campaign. I’m sure Robbie and the team can build on the result and the pledges for his playing budget will continue to rise in the coming weeks.”

Award winners will be announced at the Awards dinner, which is to be held at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle upon Tyne, later this year.
