Braves vs BRFC 25-26

Berwick’s poor record at Alliance Park continued as Caledonian Braves ran out 3-0 winners.

Connor McLaren’s pinpoint header gave the hosts a half time lead before Calum Biggar and Lennon Walker wrapped up the victory with quick fire goals.

Berwick worked hard but created little with their best opening being a Caelan McCrone shot that forced a save.

Familiar woes against Braves

It’s been a long talked about thing amongst Berwick fans about just how much of a ‘bogey team’ Braves have been and Saturday proved it to be true.

Ricky Waddell’s side are supremely effective at what they do and their plan in three games against Berwick this season has seen win all three by an 11-2 aggregate score.

As Berwick boss Kevin Haynes said post-match, of those three games Berwick have gifted “probably 7 or 8” of those goals to Braves – a startling number.

Slackness punished

“All the goals are avoidable”

The biggest frustration Berwick will feel is that all three Braves goals were entirely avoidable as the Berwick boss said.

The first two come from simple errors in possession before the third was basic set piece defending that let Berwick down.
