Blair Henderson Set To Join Stirling Albion
Borders-based forward Blair Henderson is set to leave Berwick Rangers upon the expiration of his contract on 31st May.
The 21 year-old joined the ‘Gers in January 2015, and netted 18 goals last season, 17 of which came in SPFL Ladbrokes League Two action.
The tall striker is now set to join League Two rivals Stirling Albion, having signed a pre-contract with the club this week.
Manager John Coughlin told the official website today: “We’d offered Blair a significant wage increase on his current contract with us, but he had initially expressed his desire to move to a club operating in a higher division.
“His contract lapses at the end of this month, at which point he’d be free to move to another club – though of course as an under 23, we do retain our right to compensation under SPFL rules by making that increased offer in writing.
“As I understand it, he’s now agreed terms with Stirling Albion in our league, and ourselves and Stirling Albion will agree a compensation fee without having to resort to a tribunal.
“We wish Blair well for his time with Stirling Albion.”
