Binnie’s bound for Berwick!

Berwick Rangers manager Kevin Haynes has made his first addition to the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, as striker Greg Binnie joins.

Binnie, 28, was most recently at Penicuik Athletic in the East of Scotland Premier Division. Despite only joining the Midlothian club in February, Greg netted 9 times – including a hat-trick away to Glenrothes. He has previously enjoyed spells at Preston Athletic and Bo’ness Athletic, and was also a key member of the Broxburn Athletic squad that reached the Fourth Round of the Scottish Cup in 2020 and met Premiership side St Mirren in a memorable tie in Paisley.

‘I’m very pleased to add Greg Binnie to the squad’, said Berwick manager Haynes. ‘He’s a player with strong experience at this level and brings a real physical presence and work rate in the forward areas.’

Haynes was also quick to praise the attributes that Binnie will bring on the pitch, saying, ‘Greg is someone who leads from the front, presses with intensity, and has an eye for goal – all qualities that align with how we want to play. He’s hungry to make an impact, and we’re confident he’ll be a valuable asset to the team both on and off the pitch.’

It looks like Berwick fans will enjoy watching Greg Binnie at MKM Shielfield Park in the coming months, and he’s set to be joined by more new attackers as Kevin Haynes and his coaches look to improve on the goal count from the 2024/25 season. With the likes of Liam Buchanan and Arran Laidlaw already retained, opposition goalkeepers will hopefully be in for a busy time next season!
