Berwick Rangers U20’s to travel to Dunfermline in Scottish Youth Cup action

Berwick will play Ian Little’s Livingston if they can get past Dunfermline Athletic.

Berwick Rangers Under 20’s have been handed an away draw in the 1st round of the 2016-17 Scottish Youth Cup. The tie will be played Sunday 28th August.

The ‘Gers Development Team were knocked out at the first stage last year, going down 3-2 away in Stranraer, but will be looking to improve this time out as they take on Dunfermline Athletic’s Under 20’s.

Dunfermline entered the Scottish Youth Cup at Round Three by virtue of having reached the fourth round of the 2014/15 competition, but couldn’t progress any further after losing 2-1 after extra time.

If Berwick are successful in Dunfermline, they’ll earn themselves another away trip, this time to former Berwick manager Ian Little’s Livingston.

Should Berwick make it through to Round 2, they’d take on Livi on Sunday 25th September. The club didn’t enter the competition last season, so would provide fresh opposition for the ‘Gers.

Whether or not Berwick can’t make it past The Pars in Round 1, they’ll still get the chance to test themselves against Little’s side in the Under 20’s Development League East, with the ‘Gers set to open their league campaign at Almondvale on Monday 5th September (date TBC).
