Berwick Rangers support Christmas present appeal
For the fourth year running, Berwick Rangers are joining up with the Salvation Army’s Berwick centre as part of their annual Christmas present appeal.
Eaxj year, over 65,000 gifts ade distributed by the Salvation Army nationwide, and we have enjoyed a fantastic response from fans of the ‘Gers when we have asked for your help in previous two seasons. With the Salvation Army expecting lots of local families to be requesting help this year, the football club is again working to collect donations that will brighten up Christmas for our local community.
If you are able, we would like fans to bring a gift with them to any of the next two home games – against Gretna 2008 on Saturday 22 November, and against Broxburn on Saturday 13 December. We will ensure all presents end up under the Christmas tree of children who otherwise might not receive presents this year. We would like donations of new, unwrapped toys.
Berwick fans can deliver toys to the turnstile or club shop before the two home matches mentioned above. Once the club has received your donations, we will ensure these are delivered to the Salvation Army in plenty of time to be unwrapped by children on Christmas morning.
Alternatively, you could order toys directly to the club if you cannot make either of these games but still want to help out. Just make sure all packages are addressed to Berwick Rangers, Shielfield Park, Tweedmouth, TD15 2EF.
The Salvation Army have produced a list of recommended donations (new and unwrapped), which you may find helpful:
0-3 years: dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys, CDs of suitable music and nursery rhymes, puzzles
3-5: dolls and action figures, cars, lorries, DVDs and CDs (music and nursery rhymes), colouring sets, pencils, crayons, books, puzzles
5-9: educational games & toys, stationery (colouring sets, pencils, crayons, school sets), CDs & family friendly DVDs, books, puzzles, wordsearch, crosswords
9-12: games and toys, stationery, DVDs, books, t-shirts, hair accessories, gloves, scarves, hats
13-16: books, make-up and toiletries (please try to ensure non-allergic ingredients if possible), gloves, scarves, hats, t-shirts, hair accessories and gift vouchers
