Aloulou fourth January signing

Berwick Rangers have this afternoon signed striker Ahmed Aloulou on loan from Alloa Athletic for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old Tunisian signed for Alloa in the summer after impressing the Championship side during a trial period. Aloulou has taken an unusual path to professional football, having previously earned five caps for the Scottish national Futsal team as he played indoor whilst at Dundee University.

Manager Johnny Harvey has been tracking the player for a while and believes he’ll be a great asset to the ‘Gers: “I am thrilled to manage to have this signing over the line. I have been aware of Ahmed over the last few months through a mutual contact. He comes from a Futsal background and has a real desire to make a career out of football now.

Ahmed is powerful, pacey and has an eye for goal. He is hungry to make a real impact here at Berwick Rangers. I have no doubt he will be a player the fans will enjoy watching.”

Aloulou goes straight into Johnny’s squad and will be available for selection on Saturday, if the game can beat the freezing weather conditions.
