All square in the Border derby

Berwick returned from Galabank with a hard fought point yesterday as it ended 0-0. This was the first point for Berwick from a visit to Annan since March 2013 in a game that was evenly matched with keeper McCrorie proving the saviour on a couple of occasions.

This makes it four clean sheets in the last five games and the draw means that we remain in 6th place in the Ladbrokes SPFL Division 2. In results elsewhere the top three all won whilst at the bottom Cowdenbeath remain in 10th with 5 points and next week’s opponents Edinburgh City are in 9th.

The social media Man of the Match was won by on loan keeper Robbie McCrorie  who heads off to international duty this week having been called up to the Scotland Under 21s squad – we wish him well on this great opportunity for him.

A match report is posted on the Supporters Trust website here.

Last week’s controversial penalty against Cowdenbeath is still receiving media attention having featured on Sky Sports Soccer AM programme yesterday.

The next action at Shielfield is on Tuesday night with the Under 20s facing top of the table Raith Rovers in the Development League East in what promises to be an entertaining game.
Kick off is 7.45pm.
