Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Stenhousemuir FC – Ladbrokes League Two
The final home game of the League Two season has a familiar feel to it as Robbie and the boys welcome Brown Ferguson and his play-off chasing side to Shielfield Park for the second Tuesday in succession, with the match kicking off at 7.45pm.
Last Tuesday saw a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Aaron Murrell passing up the chance to win the game for the ‘Gers with a missed penalty.
Stenhousemuir come into the game unbeaten against Berwick in the 2017/18 league campaign.
As far as Play off positions are concerned it is also worth noting that Clyde have two potential routes into the end of season playoffs. They can also qualify at the expense of Stirling Albion, this despite if the result this evening goes Stenhousemuir’s way. If Stirling lose on Saturday to Stenhousemuir and Clyde beat Berwick and if there is a 7 goal swing then Clyde would go into play off’s but as they say it’s all ‘up in the air’ – LEAGUE TABLE AT FOOT
Berwick News
The ‘Gers will be hoping to end the home season on a high and record back to back victories with a follow up result to the Cowdenbeath triumph on Saturday. Sean Brennan will be looking to keep his place in goal, having recorded clean sheets in the last two matches whilst freshly crowned player of the season, Robby McCrorie, has been out injured.
Robbie Horn indicated at the weekend that he may shuffle his pack to give some fringe players some much deserved minutes as he deliberates on his squad for next season. Paul Simpson is likely to be one of those players under consideration.
Stenhousemuir News
The visitors know that their prospects are in their own hands and will be looking to avoid any final day drama with a result here. A victory can not only seal a play-off spot but also move them above Stirling Albion into 3rd position in the table. Brown Ferguson will be looking to bounce back from the 0-2 home defeat on Saturday to title chasing Montrose.
Mark McGuigan is the leading scorer this season with 20 league goals.
