Pat Scullion leaves club

The ‘Gers can this evening confirm that defender Pat Scullion has left the club via mutual consent.

Scullion, who captained the side on several occasions, initially joined on an emergency loan deal in December 2016 before joining on a permanent basis the following month.

At the end of May it was announced that Scullion had signed a new deal for 2017/18. The 31 year old went on to make 18 appearances and score two goals, including the goal that sent Berwick through to the third round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. The fans’ favourite also earned a place in the SPFL team of the week in October after an impressive display in our 2-0 win away to Peterhead.

Scullion, who recently became a father for the first time, shared this heartfelt message:

“I’d like to thank the Manager, Players, Directors, Backroom staff and Fans for making my time at Berwick Rangers enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and was very proud to captain the side.

My family circumstances changed recently and the commitment of travelling to training has become more difficult and I feel it’s in the best interests of my family and the club that I move on at this stage. Good luck and thanks”
