Six Under 20s players secure development loans

Following the recent news that 17 year old Gary Windram joined EOS side Coldstream on development loan, the club can now confirm that a further six players have secured short term loan deals.

Dunbar based Goalkeeper Stuart Allan has signed up with local club Tweedmouth Rangers. Allan, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Crossgates Primrose last season, will be joined at the EOS club by Striker Stuart Briggs who makes the step up after a successful first year with the Berwick Rangers Football Academy. Tweedmouth manager John Patterson gave the official site his thoughts on the double signing, which he hopes will be the first of many between the two clubs:

“I’m extremely happy to welcome both Stuart Allan and Stuart Briggs (Buster) to Tweedmouth Rangers for the forthcoming season. I feel both lads will prove to be very valuable at both ends of the pitch and can’t thank Berwick Rangers enough for allowing the loan deals. I feel Buster will flourish at this standard and will score goals as a natural finisher. He has had a couple of very good seasons with Michael at Berwick colts and I can’t wait to see him in the orange of TRFC. Stuart Allan I know will have his work cut out at this level as we are up against some very good teams but game time is key for any keeper and I’m sure he will come up trumps this season. He has great distribution and is a good talker so he will only get better, as will Buster, with age and games.”

Elsewhere Kinnoull Juniors FC will also be receiving a Goalkeeper and a Striker as Macaulay Jarrett and Scott Sutherland head north for the first half of the season. Based in Perth, Kinnoull play in the McBookie North Division and currently sit third in the table.

Youngster Jamie Chapman made his debut in the Betfred Cup.

Next up Bradley Barrett has joined Lowland League outfit Whitehill Welfare. Aged just 16, Barrett will be looking to gain some valuable senior experience. Lastly, Jamie Chapman has agreed to join junior side Haddington Athletic. Chapman has enjoyed a strong start to the 2017/18 season as he featured for John Coughlin’s side throughout pre-season. His performances throughout these games were impressive, resulting in a competitive debut as a second half substitute during our 1-0 defeat to Morton in the Betfred Cup.

Due to the nature of development loans all players will be able to play for both their loan clubs and ourselves for the remainder of 2017. The SPFL Development League East kicks off in early September, with the 20s travelling to Cowdenbeath the week commencing September 4th. We host Forfar Athletic in our first home game the following week.
