Preview: Berwick Rangers v Queen’s Park – SPFL Ladbrokes League Two
Berwick host Queen’s Park tomorrow subject to a pitch inspection which the SPFL confirmed would take place at 10am.
The club had been hopeful of the game being on earlier in the week, however heavy rain on Wednesday have cast doubts with two areas of the pitch still looking heavy.
Berwick Rangers Team News:
Berwick go into tomorrow’s game with new signing Sandy Cunningham available, the young striker having joined from Stirling Albion on loan and filling the void left by the departing Andy Russell.
Whilst Kieran Ainslie left the club today, fellow local Mark Walters is on standby after first-choice stopper Kevin Walker suffered a knock in training during the week, meaning he’ll face a late fitness test.
Dwayne Coultress is definitely ruled out with a hip flexor issue, but there is positive news for Calum Helm who this week began sprint training. All being well, club therapist Jenna Orr hopes that Calum can be reintegrated to first-team training within the next three weeks.
Queen’s Park Team News:
The ‘Gers aren’t the only side who’ve bolstered their frontline ahead of the trip, with the Spiders confirming the addition of former Annan Athletic striker Kenny McKay, a threat Berwick will be more than familiar with.
However, Gus MacPherson’s side will be without Anthony Ralston, the right back having returned to his parent club Celtic after having his loan cut short.
The last time the Hampden side clashed with Berwick was on Boxing Day, where the Black & Gold army returned with three points thanks to a last-minute Darren Lavery winner.
