‘Gers to play first home Development League match
Berwick Rangers Development Side will play their first home game of the season this evening as they take on East Stirlingshire Under 20’s at Shielfield Park.
The ‘Gers were due to open their home campaign last week, but agreed to switch their scheduled clash with Cowdenbeath to Central Park.
The move may have looked a mistake as a young Dream Team entered the final 15 minutes of the game 3-1 down.
However a youthful side showed great character and maturity to form an unlikely comeback and earn all three points, Daniel Watt and Daniel Pattenden netting to equal the scores before Charlie Denton finished Cowden off with his second, after netting a penalty earlier in the half.
It seems that entertainment is guaranteed when watching the youths, and with the likes of Steven Notman, Robert Wilson and Andy Russell featuring last week, future first-teamers aren’t the only talents on show.
So why not head down to Shielfield this evening for the 7:45pm kick off and support the side as they look to build on last week’s heroics? Admission is £4 Adults, £2 Concessions.
Enjoy the match!
