Meet the new-look ‘Gers!

After a promising performance against St Mirren in the Petroface Training Cup was followed up by a thrilling 3-2 extra-time win against fellow Scottish Championship outfit Alloa Athletic in the League Cup on Saturday, the ‘Gers’ new-look side entertain Montrose in the team’s eagerly-anticipated first league match this weekend.

And with such a squad overhaul in what has been a very busy summer for ‘Gers boss Colin Cameron, club captain Jonny Fairbairn has invited fans up to the Sponsors Lounge after Saturday’s match to meet some of the first-team squad.

Only eight players, including boss Cameron, remain on the playing staff from last season, with Fairbairn seeing it as the perfect opportunity for ‘Gers fans to get to know the men they’ll be cheering on throughout the 2015/16 campaign.

The Sponsors Lounge is open to fans after every home match, with players expected to be present for a few hours on Saturday before captain Fairbairn leads the team on a tour of the town’s finest watering holes.
