Darren Lavery signs on
Darren Lavery has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract which will see him stay at the club for a fifth consecutive season.
The 23-year-old forward joined the ‘Gers back in 2011 and featured heavily for the reserve team before hitting the ground running in his first full season of Scottish League Two action with 20 goals in 2012/13.
That landed him the Top Goalscorer award, and the trophy has never left the striker’s mantelpiece since as he netted 17 goals in 2013/14 and 14 last season.
With 51 goals in 128 appearances in all competitions, Lavery is sixth on the list of the club’s all-time top goalscorers and if he continues in this vein of scoring form over the 2015/16 campaign, he’ll be sitting third this time next year.
