Calum Antell is Berwick’s safe pair of hands until 2027!

Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Calum Antell has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at MKM Shielfield Park until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Since arriving from Arbroath in 2022, Antell has become a firm fans’ favourite thanks to his superb and consistent performances between the posts. The Welsh shot-stopper has now made 115 competitive appearances for the ‘Gers—more than at any of his previous clubs—and enjoyed arguably his best season yet in 2024/25. Cal’s commanding displays earned him multiple Man of the Match awards, as well as Players’ Player of the Year and Supporters’ Club Player of the Year honours at the club’s recent end-of-season awards ceremony.

Antell’s importance to the team has been further recognised with his appointment as vice-captain by manager Kevin Haynes, while Jamie Pyper continues as club captain for the 2025/26 campaign. His leadership, experience, and presence both on and off the pitch will be invaluable as the club looks ahead to the coming seasons.

However, ‘Gers fans will need to wait a little longer to see Calum back in action. The 33-year-old recently suffered a broken finger during a pre-season match against Newcastle Benfield, ruling him out for an estimated 4 to 6 weeks. While sidelined, Antell will continue to cheer on his teammates – especially fellow ‘Gers keeper Liam Campbell – from the sidelines.

Calum’s home kit is proudly sponsored by The Riverside Café, Tweedmouth. Sponsorship packages for his away kit, training kit, and travel kit are still available and can be purchased at this link.
