Welcome Liam Campbell!

Berwick Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of 20 year old goalkeeper Liam Campbell, who joins from fellow Park’s Motor Group Lowland League club Bo’ness United.

Campbell was the first choice at Newtown Park from January 2025 to the end of the season, as the BUs finished twelfth in the league and reached the Lowland League Cup final. Before joining Bo’ness, Campbell was part of the squads of SPFL sides East Fife and Kelty Hearts.

Liam is also no stranger to ‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes, who worked with Liam between October and December 2024 in a loan spell at Dunbar United. The gaffer said, ‘Liam is a talented young goalkeeper who’s shown real maturity and composure during his time at Bo’ness. He has great shot-stopping ability, commands his area well and is great with the ball at his feet.’

Haynes also sees Campbell fitting in well with the current squad and coaches, adding, ‘Liam has the kind of attitude and professionalism we value highly at the club. He’s hungry to work with Ross Merrilees (the ‘Gers goalkeeping coach) and Callum (Antell) and we believe he has all the attributes to push on and become a key part of our goalkeeping unit.’

As Kevin Haynes alluded to, Liam joins a strong goalkeeping cohort at the club – a group which was further strengthened with the news that Thomas Kay has signed a contract extension to keep him at Berwick Rangers until the end of the 2026/27 season.
