Kay Stays!

Goalkeeper Thomas Kay has become the latest Berwick Rangers player to commit his future to the club, as he signs a 2 year contract extension that will see him remain at Berwick until the end of the 2026/7 season.

The 20 year-old shot stopper originally joined from Kerse United at the start of the 2022/23 campaign, and his strong work ethics has caught the eye of both goalkeeping coach Ross Merrilees and ‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes.

‘I’m delighted with this contract extension,’ said Haynes. ‘Thomas has shown a tremendous attitude, development and maturity since I joined the club. Unfortunately he hasn’t played much but with this new deal he will be put out on loan for season 25/26 to gain the much needed game time and experience to enhance his development further.’

The manager continued, ‘His re-signing is a big boost for the squad as we continue building towards our long-term goals. He is a popular player amongst the group and we’re excited to see him continue to grow and contribute in Black and Gold for two more years.’
