Ben trades Bonnyrigg for Berwick!
Exciting attacking midfielder Ben Scarborough has become the latest addition to the Berwick Rangers squad, as the 24 year old signs on a loan deal until the end of the season from parent club Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic.
Ben has been on the radar of the club’s scouts for the past 12 months, initially impressing at Luncarty in the East of Scotland Premier – coming up against new BRFC manager Kevin Haynes’ Dunbar United side. Playing primarily on the left wing, Ben stood out for his speed, agility and upper body strength when watched by our scouts. He opted to move to Bonnyrigg, having caught the attention of a number of SPFL clubs, and has made 13 appearances in League Two for the New Dundas Park side.
Kevin Haynes is hoping that the addition of Ben will add goals and assists to his Berwick side, adding, ‘Although he’s coming to us on loan, I’m sure he’ll prove to be a huge asset for the remainder of the current season.’
Berwick fans will have their first opportunity to catch Ben Scarborough in action on Saturday, as Gretna 2008 make the journey across the Borders to MKM Shielfield Park.
