Ben is back
Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm that Ben McCrystal’s loan stay has been extended to the end of the season, following an agreement with his parent club, St Johnstone.
The 18 year old midfielder has stood out for his composed displays, and has also shown plenty of creativity and attacking threat. In 12 appearances for the ‘Gers so far this season, Ben has scored 2 memorable goals. The first was a fine strike against Bo’ness United after Ben cut in the from the wing, and the second was a magnificent free kick to seal a win against Albion Rovers at MKM Shielfield Park in November.
Ben becomes the second of Berwick’s loanees to extend his stay to the end of the season, following a similar deal being reached with left back Owen Calder and Hibernian last week. Joining them at the club is permanent signing Kyle Somers, who was brought in from Dunbar United to reunite with new ‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes.
Ben McCrystal’s travel and training kit is sponsored by Nick Travers, whom we thank for his support. Berwick Rangers would also like to thank St Johnstone for their cooperation in allowing Ben to continue his development with us.
