Shanks joins the club’s management team

Berwick Rangers Football Club is delighted to confirm that Dean Shanks has joined the club’s management team, following on from the arrival of Stuart Malcolm as manager on Monday afternoon.

Dean, who was most recently coaching with Penicuik Athletic, also has experience as a manager himself having enjoyed impressive periods in charge of Hawick Royal Albert and Gala Fairydean Rovers.

Indeed, Dean will have fond memories of Shielfield Park having led the Albert to a famous 3-2 Scottish Cup victory at Shielfield Park back in 2016; a result most ‘Gers fans would admittedly likely rather forget about!

His time at Gala Fairydean Rovers saw good progress too, with Shanks leading the Netherdale side to an 8th placed finish in the Lowland League as well as the Third Round of the Scottish Cup, before his time was cut short following a boardroom change.

All at the club would like to wish Dean a very warm welcome to Shielfield Park.
