20s pre-season friendlies announced
The Under 20s have a busy pre-season schedule planned, with eight games organised for July.
The games, all of which are away from home, begin on the 3rd of July with a trip to Leith Athletic. From there, seven more games against East of Scotland and Amateur teams have been scheduled for the young ‘Gers.
Last week the club announced that eleven players had signed up for 2018/19, with more to be added upon expiration of their contracts at their current clubs. The pre-season games will be used to integrate the new players into the squad, whilst also offering the coaching staff ample opportunities to cast their eye over a number of trialists.
Coach Daniel McKenzie is looking forward to testing his squad against some quality opposition as preparation for the upcoming season: “Our list of friendly matches, whilst still to be added to, is a very attractive one. We are facing quality teams from the East of Scotland League and top amateur teams in Scotland. We will continue to supplement this with further games, enabling us to be ready for the new season when it commences in the middle of August. We begin training on Thursday night alongside the first team and I’m really excited to be back with a promising group of talented players.”
